Hello! My name is TG.
I am just an average joe who works from 9 to 5 in the corporate world supporting my young family. As an IT consultant, I have no finance experience whatsoever, so I am not a financial advisor. Currently, I am working toward my Financial Independence and I want to share what works for me, and in the process, I hope to build a community that we all can help one another.
I started this site with the goals to:
1. Document and share my thoughts process of what works or fails on my journey to Financial Independence.
2. I hope to educate the basic habits of investing to the average working people.
3. I hope to help you to see the potential growth with investing, and in a result encourage you to start your journey to Financial Independence.
In late 2019, is when I officially took it seriously to start my journey. My goal is to achieve my FIRE number of $1 million dollars in 10 years. Once I achieve my $1 million, I will reassess my lifestyle again to see if it is sufficient to support our family. Currently, I live in Northern Virginia and it's one of the most expensive places in the US, so $1 million may not be sufficient with inflation and the rise of the cost of living for the next 10 years.
Whether it's sufficient or not, having a realistic number to work toward helps me motivated and focus on the big picture. The fact of having a plan gives me a sense of security that I would have enough money for retirement.
I hope the contents on the site have helped you in some way with your Financial Independence journey.
